Aero-TV: Blended Winglets – Advanced Technology from Aviation Partners

Fine-Tuning Aerodynamic Efficiency, Wingtip By Wingtip Aviation Partners estimates that Blended Winglet technology has saved the industry MILLIONS of gallons of jet fuel. Further; they project that by the end of 2014, Blended Winglets will have saved in excess of 5 BILLION gallons of jet fuel. Yes… BILLIONS. I love boastful companies… so long as the reality lives up to the hype. In the case of Aviation partners, Inc., a fat order book seems fairly convincing proof that the industry is experiencing the gains that the company claims for their aircraft modification efforts. From the hawker series to the BBJ and other Boeings, Aviation Partners Blended Winglets claim to reduce wingtip vortex, resulting in less drag, lower fuel burn and superior climb and cruise characteristics. In addition, Blended Winglets upgrade the look of a straight-wing aircraft (no argument, there…). First introduced for the Gulfstream II in 1992, this technology has been installed on over 70% of the GII fleet, along with more than 100 Hawker 800 series aircraft, and over 3500 Boeing jets. The Boeing case is particularly compelling in that a typical Blended Winglet-equipped 737 saves 100000 gallons of fuel per year. Over the course of two decades, Aviation Partners, a Seattle-based private corporation founded in 1991 by Joe Clark and Dennis Washington, has had an impressive effect on the aviation industry… and the cost of operation of thousands of jet aircraft. Do pyramids Contain Alien/Advanced Technology?

The Egyptians were a mysterious civilisation that easily captures the imagination. Their way of living has been easily documented, everything Apart from how the pyramids were built. The pyramids are structures of such awe-inspiring dimensions that many people across the centuries have found it hard to credit its creation to human beings. And even harder to realise that these human beings had not fully mastered the use of, say, the simple rope pulley, let alone explosives, mechanical diggers, power drills, cranes and helicopters. So the mystery remains.. How did the pyramids get built? pyramids Contain Alien/Advanced Technology has been edited by me from the excellent Ancient Alien series [...]

Ancient Advanced Technologies – Technologies of The Gods

Technologies of the Gods brings convincing evidence that ancient civilizations utilized high-tech engineering methods equal to, if not superior to our own and that these technologies were being applied on a world-wide level. Produced by Atlantis Rising Magazine. It has long been suspected that the Great Pyramids, Stonehenge, and the Mayan temples could not have been built using the primitive technologies attributed to those peoples by the orthodox academic view which states that primitive civilization in Mesopotamia, Egypt and India emerged from the stone age just over five thousand years ago. In Technologies of the Gods breakthrough researchers, writers and engineers take a look at real evidence – largely ignored by the academic establishment – which shatters the orthodox scenario for the dawn of civilization on Earth. XMC Cat – Data to Insight Center, Indiana University

One of the biggest challenges today’s scientists face is sorting and making sense of the massive amounts of data produced by advanced scientific instruments and supercomputers. In response to these challenges, the IU Data to Insight Center (D2I) has released XMC Cat, a new software tool designed to make this critical task more manageable and reduce the time between data collection and possible scientific breakthrough. XMC Cat is a catalog of metadata, or “data about data.” Metadata help scientists more quickly locate the data most useful to their research. XMC Cat further accelerates this process by cataloging detailed metadata and providing access to that metadata through an easy-to-use web interface. To learn more about XMC Cat, visit: www.dataandsearch.org Pervasive Technology Institute – pti.iu.edu [...]
