The Samsung UE55B7020 Product Review

First Views: By far the most imposing attribute of the UE55B7020 is the depth of it. Less than 1.5 inches, in fact.Samsung has done well by ensuring that everything you could do with is included in the package, unlike some of its competitors who now and again move key components out to a discrete box you have to find space for. It also looks excellent, with a striking black surround and a slender translucent connection connecting the display and the stand.

Sound Quality: Generally contemporary TVs have inadequate quality sound outputs and the UE55B7020 is no exception. The depth of the UE55B7020 is not ample to add in good speakers so it would be a good plan to plug in a separate external sound system.

Image: This is what sets apart the UE55B7020 from other comparable Televisions. It is unique as it has done away with fluorescent tubes for backlighting and replaced them with LEDs. Although the backlighting technology is unique, the UE55B7020 remains a LCD Television. LED backlighting is supposed to have the following benefits:

* LEDs provide a more even light – they use a grid system, rather than the traditional fluorescent light source.

* Flawless blacks are attainable – out of the question with conventional TVs.

* The response rate of the monitor is quicker.

* The colour array that can be displayed is greater.

Socket connections: The UE55B7020 has all the connectivity to connect to other appliances and computers that the majority of us are expected to need – an LAN port, 2 USB ones and 4 HDMI connections. The USB connections allow the playing of a variety of multimedia file formats as well as to your wireless set-up (you will want a separate dongle.) And the LAN network connection permits easy access to files on your home network.

The chief remote control is a rather eccentrically created device, a bit similar to a shoehorn. A little awkward to employ at first, but OK after you are used to it. And a small remote is also provided – enabling power of and on, together with channel and volume changes.

Energy efficiency: LEDs use a great deal less power (between 100W and 130W) than the traditional fluorescent backlighting so the Television will be cheaper to own than its competitors.

To Summarise: A great TV in what will without doubt be one of a new generation of LED backlit Televisions. In spite of typical sound quality, the picture quality of the UE55B7020 is superior.
