Phones designed for children come in bright colors, have neat designs, and have only basic cell phone components included. Many more technical options, like a camera, that adult phones rely on, are not at all necessary for children’s phones.
As a parent who wants a cell phone for your child, it may be that you consider it a safety feature for your child and all the extra bells and whistles that cell phones can have are just not necessary. If your goal is your child’s safety, and you’ll feel better if you give them a cell phone, then any phone that gives you the basic service needed will work.

It doesn’t matter what age your child is, if they have not already started asking for a cell phone of their own, they will be soon. What this means is that you will have to decide if you are prepared to introduce them to the responsibilities of having a phone. There are lots of parents who don’t believe that young children should have access to all the high tech toys at a very young age. Many feel that kids should just be kids for as long as it’s possible.
